Volunteers at PCS are the heart of what we do. We have a variety of volunteer positions including Client Advocate, Receptionist, and Church Liaison, along with opportunities to serve in Events, Outreach, and Administration.
All volunteers must be 18 years or older, have love and compassion for those in the community we serve, agree with our statement of faith, mission/vision statement, confidentiality agreement, and background check as well as be willing to go through training as needed.
The Client Advocate meets directly with the client one-on-one. Clients are men and women who are facing an unplanned pregnancy. Advocates need to have compassion, and empathy and be able to listen to the needs of those in the community who come to us for help.
This position requires a 4-hour per week commitment and you will be trained on the job by walking through our client training program, shadowing seasoned advocates, and being able to participate in mock counseling sessions.
This position is one of the most important as you will represent PCS and requires the person to be able to direct phone calls confidently and clearly, schedule appointments using our online system, and be able to assess the needs of the client. You will be asked to commit to a specific time slot and day for consistency.
