Facing another unexpected pregnancy can be so disappointing and even embarrassing. You are not alone if you are struggling with a second unexpected pregnancy and wondering what you should do. Many other women have been in your shoes.

Read what one anonymous Reddit user had to say:

“Fast forward 3 months later, I am pregnant again and absolutely DEVASTATED… I don’t know how I could be so dumb to let this happen to me again. I have fallen into a depression behind this. I have ordered more abortion pills, but I cannot bring myself to take them because of what happened in the past to me. Someone, please help me.”

At PCS Health, we offer a safe space to talk about your situation. If you would like to talk to someone confidentially about your situation, please call us at (530) 626-6720 or text (530) 363-8110. We’re here for you.

You Have Options

You have two other options besides having an abortion: choosing to parent or making an adoption plan. We can assist you and provide referrals for both options. Let’s take a closer look at each.

Choosing to Parent

It may, at first, seem impossible to consider parenting, but just because your pregnancy is unexpected, it doesn’t mean you can’t parent. We have many resources to assist you.

Here are just a few of the free parenting resources we can provide:

  • Free Parenting Classes. No one is ever fully prepared to parent, so it helps to receive some education before your baby is born.

Our free parenting classes teach you what to expect during your pregnancy, understanding childbirth, caring for a newborn, and so much more.

  • Earn While You Learn Program. As you finish various classes, you’ll earn “Baby Bucks” that can be exchanged for new items in our Baby Boutique. Generous members of our community donate maternity and baby clothes, diaper bags, baby essentials, and more. You will also leave with a free package of baby wipes and diapers with every parenting class visit.
  • Community Assistance Referrals. We work with other local organizations to provide you with community and financial resources that can help you build a stable future.

Making an Adoption Plan

If parenting isn’t an option, you can always consider placing your child for adoption. Today’s adoption process is very different from what it was a few decades ago. Now, the expectant mother or birth mother (if you’ve already given birth) makes all of the decisions.

You select the adoptive parents who will raise your baby, and you decide how much contact you wish to have with them in the future. You can choose from one of the following three plans:

  • Open Adoption. You and the adoptive family exchange identifying information, such as full names, phone numbers, or addresses. You correspond with each other directly.
  • Semi-Open Adoption. You communicate with the adoptive family, but all communication first goes through a third party, such as your adoption agency or attorney. You have contact with one another while also maintaining privacy.
  • Closed Adoption. You have no contact with the adoptive family. Some women feel this helps them move on with their lives.

All adoption services are free. PCS Health is not a licensed child-placing agency, but we can provide referrals to reputable adoption coordinators.
